Community is the infrastructure

Care should feel like coming home.

We turn food, time, and neighborly care into practical relief—so families navigating crisis have room to breathe, recover, and feel held.

How it started

Built by neighbors, for neighbors.

When crisis changes everything, community becomes the infrastructure.

No Neighbors Left Behind began with a simple belief: feeding people has never ended at the register. What started as a way to keep good food from going to waste grew into a grassroots response when the Eaton Fire changed life across our community.

For two months, neighbors transformed our café into a relief hub. Together, we delivered meals and drinks, supported hundreds of families, amplified 42 GoFundMe campaigns, and sustained a community fridge for seven months.

Today, we continue that work year-round—rescuing food, preparing nourishing freezer meals, creating restorative gatherings, and investing in neighbors whose talents deserve a place to grow.

What neighboring looks like

Relief with dignity.
Care with staying power.

01

Nourishment

Restaurant excess becomes thoughtful, ready-to-enjoy meals that give families back time, energy, and one less decision to make.

02

Reciprocal Community

Shared tables, wellness experiences, and practical support build relationships before the next emergency happens.

03

Meaningful Work

Paid, hands-on opportunities help adults with disabilities build skills, confidence, connection, and pathways to employment.

We are replacing the idea of “charity” with something more human: neighboring.

The table was always meant to get bigger.

Our work is rooted in a family value that has guided founder Kaiy Smith-Biesman her entire life: if you can help, you help. No titles required. No perfect circumstances needed. Just neighbors choosing to show up for one another.

There is a place for you in this work.

Give because if you can help, you help. Volunteer because care becomes real when people show up. Partner because no single organization can build community alone.
